oh no
so about a year ago, my friend and i started a project together
the details aren’t important, but we used the MIT license
later, they edited the license text without my knowledge
i didn’t notice until today
and i’ve been copy-and-pasting the license text (indirectly) from that repo for the past year
so i was randomly looking at one of my repos today, and i noticed the license was… not how i remembered it
and after some looking around, i found the original commit from that old repo
(the original repo has since been deleted, unrelated to this)
so now i have to go back and change all of the licenses
i’m not mad at my friend, but i’m a little annoyed
but if i’m being honest, i’m mostly just laughing at myself
it’s a good thing i found out now, and not later
this is such a stupid mistake
affected repos:
i’ve deleted the following, where applicable:
i know this is definitely NOT best practice, but idk what else to do
i’ve been using this extension for a while, which is part of the reason why i didn’t notice the change
(you should use it too)
always double-check your licenses
